This NYSDOT project located in Fairport, NY consists of a 3-sided culvert set on precast invert slabs and cut-off walls. The bridge incorporates a bicycle path and railings. Due to the abundant wildlife, it will also include a turtle protection barrier and a stone wildlife passage ledge to allow safe crossing.
According to NYSDOT, the existing bridge was nearly 90 years old. The replacement bridge includes 12-foot travel lanes and six-foot shoulders and was intended to enhance safety for motorists and pedestrians and also revitalize the local economy.
Construction of the $1.1 million project took place in July & August of 2019.
