Lakelands Concrete Founded

Lakelands Concrete Products is founded and incorporated by W.R. Clarke and G.L. Price in Avon, NY. The company begins by producing septic tanks in the old railroad roadhouse.

1954

Relocation to Honeoye Falls

Lakelands purchases property on Maplewood Avenue in Honeoye Falls, NY, and relocates its operations to support continued growth.

Expansion into Concrete Brick Production

A new product line, Cavitex concrete brick, is added. Additional infrastructure, including a building and kiln, is constructed to support production.

Transition to Patio Block Production

Brick machinery is converted to manufacture patio blocks, opening new markets with local garden centers and lumberyards.

Septic Tank Sales Milestone

Lakelands reaches a major milestone by selling over 2,000 septic tanks in a single year.

Entry into Utility Vault Market

Lakelands begins producing utility vaults under the Quikset brand, expanding into infrastructure solutions.

Second Facility in Lima, NY

To support growing demand for utility vaults, a second property is acquired in Lima, NY.

Plant Fire & Recovery

Two fires strike the Honeoye Falls plant within four days—one destroying the facility entirely. The team sells the Honeoye Falls site, constructs a new facility in Lima, and resumes operations rapidly.

Office Expansion & Steel Fabrication Launch

A new office building is completed, and Lakelands Fabricators is launched to provide in-house steel fabrication capabilities.

Major Plant Expansion

A new 50′ x 210′ addition is constructed to expand production capacity.

New England Market Expansion

Lakelands acquires Concrete Utility Products and Chase Precast to enter and serve the New England region.

Growth into Hudson Valley & NJ Markets

A new acquisition in Kingston, NY is rebranded as Lakelands Hudson Valley (LHV), extending services to the Hudson Valley and New Jersey.

Box Culverts Introduced

Box culverts are added to support infrastructure needs of municipalities and DOTs.

Consolidation at Lima Facility

Operations are consolidated at the Lima location. Concrete Utility Products and LHV divisions are sold.

Product Diversification

Lakelands expands its offerings to include architectural, prestressed, and agricultural concrete products.

Modular Building Solutions

Lakelands begins serving the modular building industry with architectural-finished small and medium-sized buildings.

Architectural PCI Certification Achieved

The company becomes PCI certified for architectural precast products, solidifying its reputation for quality.

Fire Recovery & Rapid Rebuild

Another fire devastates the Lima plant due to a heater malfunction. Within 10 days, production resumes and rebuilding begins.

Office Renovations Completed

Modern updates and renovations are made to the office building to support future growth.

Leadership Transition

Todd Clarke, son of Richard Clarke, is appointed President of Lakelands Concrete Products, Inc.

Stone Strong Retaining Walls Added

The Stone Strong retaining wall system is introduced, offering large-block retaining solutions.

Entry into Sanitary Manhole Market

Lakelands adds molds and components for round sanitary manholes, further expanding its infrastructure offerings.
